The Secret Life of Bees
Well I went to see this movie and far be it from me to say that it wasn't a moving and touching story of finding one's self in the midst of all the madness and lies that go on in the world on a daily basis. This movie dealt with the coldness of human beings on every level. The utter disdain that we can have for one another from the fear of losing love, a perceived place of power and superiority. This movie took me to a long forgotten and repressed portion of my life growing up in the South. It also made me shed a few tears while watching it. I hadn't felt so angry and so happy at the same time in a while. It also brings home the necessity of voting and the perseverance it took to stand in the face of the many beatings and intimidation for that right to vote. I say to you make sure you say I haven't forgotten by going out to vote on Nov. 4th.

My favorite place to wander
This is one of my favorite places to go and wander around the grounds and look at how the trees are beginning to change color.
Besides I have been able to create some wonderful paintings from this place. The colors are so vibrant that it is so hard to believe they are real at times. I have a fond appreciation for creation.

How you don't want to be remembered
I had the pleasure of photographing a Martial Arts Tournament and this was the most memorable moment of the whole day. The poor guy did not have a chance. The Black belt that was controlling the match just laughed in utter disbelief at what took place during this lopsided match. The faces have been blurred to protect the beaten. Enjoy
